SOCIALLY ENGAGED ARTISTS
Cultural Democracy cares about succession planning in areas of participatory, socially engaged and co-created practice within the Creative and Cultural sector.
To contribute to this, Cultural Democracy works with Socially Engaged Artists in the following ways:
Training in Applied and Socially Engaged Creative practice
This is practical and creative training, led by core members of the team. This training has been utilised in a range of cross sector environments including youth services, creative organisations, Universities, Health and Social Services.
The training can be tailored to the needs of each group and is delivered in a supportive, inclusive and creative way; enabling attendees to play, learn and have a go, together.
Coaching and Mentoring
Cultural Democracy offers 1-1 or small group coaching, or mentoring, depending on the needs of the individual or group. This is usually over a minimum of 6 weeks but sometimes is much longer.
Connecting
Cultural Democracy has a pool of Socially Engaged artists to work with on the delivery of creative projects of programmes. These artists receive annual training and year round support from the team, to ensure they are up to date in all aspects of Safeguarding training, good practice guidance and able to deliver work of the highest quality.
Cultural Democracy then connects these artists to opportunities, to deliver creative projects within Greater Manchester.
